Microsoft have just announced their intention to buy Zenimax Studios, the company that owns Bethesda.
With this purchase Microsoft will have control over the Elder Scrolls franchise, along with the Fallout franchise and Doom.
Jason Schreier broke the story with this tweet:
BREAKING: Microsoft is planning to buy Zenimax/Bethesda, an industry-shaking acquisition that will give Xbox ownership of Fallout, The Elder Scrolls, Doom, Wolfenstein, Dishonored, and more. Story hitting Bloomberg shortly

And as Jason promised, Bloomberg has more details of the Zenimax/Bethesda acquisition by Microsoft.
This is a massive move for Microsoft. I’ll be giving my thoughts on this in another post.
